As the children begin to master the initial challenges of the preschool experience, most children of the Butterfly Class can fully engage in the environment.
Teachers carefully plan more challenging activities and interest areas for this class, creating a different experience. Because the children have become more competent in social situations, the Butterfly class is able to work individually or in small groups on more in depth, complex projects. Students are given the opportunity to engage in activities such as gardening, experiments, art experiences, and other immersive activities.
